Plastic Tubing
Plastic tubing of various lengths and bores constructed of materials suitable for general laboratory, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, medical, vacuum, low-pressure, high-pressure, cleanroom or environmental applications. Products may be chemical- or corrosion-resistant. Formulated for resistance to flex fatigue and abrasion, plastic tubing is more flexible and less permeable than rubber tubing.
How Is Plastic Tubing Used?
Flexible plastic tubing may be used as transfer lines for contamination fluid control, hydraulics, protective jacketing, vacuum pump and diaphragm pump feeds and discharges, refrigeration, water and fluid lines, food and beverage, instrumentation, research laboratories, agriculture, material handling, air and gas lines, chemical lines and pharmaceuticals.
Types of Plastic Tubing:
• PVC: lightweight and flexible, will retain its bore on bending and can be sterilized up to 121°C
• Silicone: ideal where a hard-wearing material is needed, including transfer of liquids or higher temperature environments
• LDPE: good for general low pressure and temperature, instrumentation, corrosive atmosphere, and food processing
• PTFE: has excellent chemical-resistant and temperature-resistant properties
• PE: flexible, lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant, used for a wide range of liquid, gas, and fluid transfer applications
• FEP: clear, small-diameter tubing, the economical choice for chemical resistance and broad temperature exposure
• PEEK: high-performance polymer with mechanical and chemical resistance, and highly resistant to thermal degradation
Accuflow Systems Saint-Gobain C-Flex Tubing, TPE, 3/8 in ID, 5/8 in OD
C-Flex 374 TPE tubing is a pharmaceutical-grade thermoplastic elastomer tube formulated for bioprocess and laboratory fluid transfer. It is intended for aseptic welding and sealing disconnection in single-use assemblies, offering flexibility and reduced permeability compared with silicone.
- Pharmaceutical-grade thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).
- Translucent tubing, 0.375 in ID x 0.625 in OD.

Tygon S3 E-3603 is a non-DEHP special PVC laboratory tubing formulated for resistance to flex-fatigue and abrasion. It features a glassy-smooth inner bore for easy visual inspection and cleaning, and is suitable for vacuum, instrumentation, and general laboratory fluid transfer applications.
- Non-DEHP special PVC formulation, no BPA or phthalates.
- Inner diameter: 1/4 in (6.4 mm).
- Outer diameter: 3/8 in (9.6 mm).
- Wall thickness: 1/16 in (1.6 mm).

- Maximum recommended operating temperature: 74 °C (165 °F).
- Vacuum rating: withstands full vacuum at 73 °F (29.9 in Hg) and up to 27 in Hg at 140 °F.
- Sterilization: compatible with autoclave (steam 30 min at 15 psi, 121 °C) and ethylene oxide.
